Company Founded

Building on Strong Foundations

In 1993, Desmond Rafferty established Portafill on the family farm near Galbally, Co. Tyrone. The company's first creation was a ground breaking trench-filling machine that attached to the back of a tipper truck. This innovative machine used a conveyor to efficiently move sand from the hopper into trenches, embodying the portability that would become central to Portafill's identity.
